HS Produkt is a Croatian small arms manufacturer, founded in 1991 as IM Metal and renamed HS Produkt in 2001, with headquarters and production in Karlovac. It designs and builds polymer-framed pistols, including the HS2000 family sold in the United States by Springfield Armory as the XD, Hellcat and Echelon lines, as well as the VHS-2 bullpup assault rifle fielded by the Croatian Armed Forces. Around 90 percent of output is exported, chiefly to the United States, and with around 1,900 employees it ranks among the world's largest pistol producers.
