Safran Electronics & Defense is the defence electronics company of the Safran group, formed in 2005 from Sagem's defence activities and registered at Safran's Paris headquarters. It is Europe's leading supplier of military optronics and inertial navigation systems, and produces the Patroller tactical drone and guidance kits for the AASM Hammer air-to-ground weapon. Around 19,000 employees work for the company across five continents.
