Founded in Vienna in 1951, Schiebel develops and produces the Camcopter S-100 and S-300 vertical take-off and landing unmanned air systems as well as mine detection equipment. The ship-launched S-100 serves navies, coastguards and border agencies worldwide and was selected with Thales for the UK Royal Navy Peregrine rotary-wing UAS contract in 2023. The company employs around 300 people, with headquarters in Vienna and production in Wiener Neustadt and Abu Dhabi, and also flies maritime surveillance missions for the European Maritime Safety Agency.
